Risan has a Master Degree in Engineering Science and is a Salvation Army officer. He has spent the majority of his working years in different leadership positions in The Salvation Army, but he also has experience in governmental management of national petroleum resources.

Størksen established Sally Ann in Norway. After five years` absence he has again been employed part time to be in charge of brand-design, promotion and concept development from September 2010. Størksen runs his own company working with project management and consultancy in the fields of communication and marketing. He is regarded as one of Norway's foremost speakers.
